February 9 - Day 9

I didn't sleep well because I was worried about my hives. It was an awful noisy night too. Maybe I just heard it more since I wasn't really asleep.

Needless to say, I did not get up and go to the Yoga By the Sea class that I wanted to attend.

Hives
Most of my hives disappeared. I still have a couple.

Work
Had so much to do that I didn't head out till around 11:00 a.m.

Mucho Caliente
It finally got hot out today! As a matter of fact, I got to wear a skirt!

Constituyentes
I wanted to check out the other side of Constituyentes today and I am so glad that I did! It is a very local area and there wasn't a lot to do, but I ran across the greatest little restaurant.

Nativo
Cutest little fresh produce store/restaurant. The fresh fruit on display drew me in. They outgrew their location and opened Nativo Jr. directly across the street. It is the same menu. The food looked amazing! Bryn and I are definitely going their for breakfast.

I had a Chocolate, Banana, and yogurt drink to go that was just over $2.00 and it was like our super-sized drinks. Delicioso!

El Photos
My camera did not seem to be working. I wasn't able to see my screen and I kept thinking that it was the sun. Don't wear polaroid sunglasses while trying to take pictures. Duh! I finally realized that I could see the screen over the top of my glasses.

Lunch
I should not have been hungry after that yummy drink, but I brought my sandwich. I ate it by the ferry dock again, but there weren't any pigeons. I pulled off chunks of my bread for them. I walked towards the park and found some pigeons and gave it to them.

La Playa
I walked the beach from the ferry dock all the way past the Grand Coco Bay. I would have continued walking to Sandos Caracol, but I needed to go potty.

As I was walking, there were about 5 guys behind me and they were trying to find their way back to 5th Avenue, so I told them to follow me. They were from Canada and they wanted to book a fly fishing trip. We went to La Cueva Del Chango and I used the washrom and they had a drink. Cindy & Margo, they moved the bathroom to the back of the restaurant. It's very nice. Andres' wasn't there again, but his Partner, Pedro was.

Jorge
I walked back on 10th Avenue and stopped in to say "Hi!" to Jorge as I passed his store. He said that he thinks my hives were caused from an allergic reaction. Also, Jen from the shelter said that I could have been allergic to the shampoo that we used on the dogs because it's very strong nd she's allergic. The weird thing is that they were only on my face.

Au Revoir
My French neighbor was leaving today. I wasn't sure if I would see him, so I left a note under his door. When I woke up this morning, I had a nice letter from him. He ran to see some of his diving friends and said that Anna was taking him to the airport at 3:00 p.m.

After I left Jorge's, I figured that I had plenty of time to get back to say "goodbye," but literally, as I turned the corner, there they were...about to drive away. He got out and hugged me goodbye. He can't wait to come back for a longer amount of time....what a suprise! It's an addicting place.

Work
I tried to do some more work, but we had a weak Internet connection.

Rooftop
I went to the rooftop to get some more sun and read my book, but every time I go up there, the sun goes behind the clouds and I have to put my towel over me. Finally, I decided to go back in and try the Internet again.

Internet
The Internet finally worked, so I was able to do some work and blog.

Dinner
I went to this cute little place on 10th Avenue that only locals go to. They have giant sandwiches that are very inexpensive. I have been admiring them. They do not speak English in there and he had to borrow a Diet Coke from his neighbor. LOL

I ordered the Cubano Sandwich, which was made with hot dogs! I think they make them more authentic in Chicago using Jamon (ham). I saved some of it to feed the dogs on my way home. The other night there was a dog eating garbage in front of the Emergency Room, so I thought I would bring it something better.

El Perros
I ran into a cute dog that I met the other day that was very skittish, but quickly warmed up to me. I saw it on my way to dinner. So, I stopped to give it some of the sandwich, but it really didn't like it. Not sure why the dogs are so picky. He was very nervous everytime someone walked by though.

The dog wasn't at the ER today, so I fed two dogs through a fence. They were very excited, but one would growl at the other when it tried to get the food. It reminded me of Harley & Daisy.

Dessert
I was on a mission to find dessert, which I didn't need. Luckily, I didn't find anything.

Back Home
I was back home by 8:15 p.m. just working and blogging. Oh, I got to watch Captain Scully on an American Channel that I didn't know existed. That story still amazes me.

Buenos Noches!
