February 19 - Day 19

Bryn is coming today! I don't think she'll arrive at the ADO bus terminal until around 3:00 p.m. I made a sign to hold up like the limo drivers do at the airport.

I wanted to go and work out on the rooftop before heading out, but they were doing some maintenance.

I worked for a little bit, which was good.

Out and About
I had to leave so that Anna could clean the condo. We communicated the best that we could (her in Spanish and me in English) and I was on my way!

Auto Mechanic
I heard someone yell "Miss," and when I looked up, there was the Auto Mechanic waving to me.

Sweltering
Today was seriously the hottest day ever. From the time I stepped out the door, I felt like I was in Cuba! I instantly made me crabby (especially when people would stop in front of me as if I wasn't there). Then, some shop owner wanted me to see his "Flea Market," and tried to get me to go to the back booth, and I told him "No!....I start at the front and work my way back so I can see everything." Annoying!

Paseo Del Carmen
I walked around the upscale shops with air conditioning.

Bano
When I went to the washroom, there was no running water and they didn't tell me till I already put soap on my hands, so I annoyed again. I went upstairs and rinsed them in the fountain! (At least they weren't out of soap though.)

Johnny Rockets
I ate a fattening lunch at Johnny Rockets because they have Air Conditioning. I really needed to get out of the heat (and today was not a beach day). It was such a relief. They play good 50's music too. I wouldn't normally go, but I never go to Johnny Rockets. It was probably one of my most expensive meals too at $13.00.

El Parque
I found a nice bench under a tree in the park and took a little Siesta while waiting for Bryn because it as just too hot to walk around. It actually was so nice and cool.

La Playa
Bryn didn't arrive on the 2:00 p.m. and the next bus wasn't till 3:35 p.m., so I decided to have a drink on the beach and then walk back on the beach and up to 5th to the ADO terminal again. I had a Banana Daquiri at the Alhambra hotel. As soon as I got to 5th, I noticed people with suitcases, so I knew that another bus came in, so I ran back to the terminal and Bryn was waiting on the bench (but she just arrived). It came in early.

Bryn
It's no fair that Bryn is already as dark as I am. LOL

We walked back to the condo to drop off her luggage. It was so hot and she needed to change clothes too.

She had a little snack while I did some work.

Chedraui
We ran to the Chedraui to pick up some pop, water, and pastries for breakfast.

Out on the Town
We walked down Juarez to visit the Oaxacan market, which was a good idea because it was cooling off.

Then, we walked down 5th Avenue to do some more shopping and Bryn got a Gelato at Aldo's Gelato shop.

Dinner
El Fogon
We went to El Fogon and sat outside. I had the Chorizo Queso Fundido again. As we were sitting there, my allergies started going crazy, so we think it has to do with the grill at El Fogon. Bryn was my witness!

Urban Suites
We ran back to the condo to check on things, and then went out again because we needed to walk after our dinner.

More Shopping
Bryn learned what a shopper's paradise Playa Del Carmen is. I took her to some of my favorite shops.

Jorge
We decided to walk back on 10th and as we were circling back, we ran into Jorge and Mikayla. They were coming back from the Health Club. It's crazy how I keep running into people.

Ups and Downs in Mexico
Bryn got to experience firsthand, all of the holes in the streets and sidewalks. It makes it difficult to maneuver around sometimes, and you really need to be careful. She tripped a few times too!

Back Home
We got back a little after 10:00 p.m. It really cooled off in the evening. We got everything ready for our tour and talked until about 12:30 p.m.

I know, but now it's chilly. LOL...Can't win, but I'm not complaining because my mom told me about the weather back home too. Awful.

No, Mexico is not annoying at all. I'm getting sad that it's almost time to come home, but I do miss my Harley Barley.
