February 13 - Day 13

Hives
I did have more hives scattered on my face this morning. They are hideous.

My Bank
Apparently there was another breach of Security at my bank, so that's why they cancelled my debit card. It affected all customers. I am definitely switching banks when I get home because that it like the 3rd time!

Friday the 13th
I'm superstitious and didn't want to take the collectivo on Friday the 13th, so I didn't go to the Bahia Principe. I had too much work to finish up anyhow.

Muy Caliente
Wow! It was a scorcher today! It's amazing how cool it was when I arrived. What a big difference.

Nativo
I thought that Ana was cleaning the condo again this morning, so I walked to Nativo and got a Fresa, Banana, and yoghurt Smoothie. I drank that thing so quickly.

Zappatos
I walked across the street to another small mall behind the Mega store. I found a really cute pair of sandals and I bought them!

Work
I tried to work some more, but it was taking forever, so I walked over to Chedraui to buy more Coca Cola Light.

Lunch
On the way back, I decided to stop at this little restaurant that was very inexpensive. My lunch cost $3.28 U.S. Previously, I thought that it was a coffee shop. It's pretty cute and I wasn't expecting such reasonable food. I guess it's the location, but I had the Vegetable Quesadillas and this red hot sauce. A guy at the next table kept staring as I put that on. I think he thought I wouldn't be able to handle it. LOL I'm adding this one to my list of places that I would return to.

Work
Unbelievable! It took like an hour to submit one quote. Finally, I shut everything down for a while.

Work-Out and Siesta
I worked out on the rooftop and then took an hour Siesta. It was very refreshing.

Work
Yippee! It's finally running faster. I got some work done and hope that it stays up and running for the rest of the evening.

Pesos
The Peso situation can be a bit unclear. Right now, the U.S. dollar has more value, so it's advantageous to use Pesos instead. It seems like you are paying so much money when you use Pesos. It's very easy to get confused. I e-mailed Gina and Deanna to see if I was correct. I just divide by 14. It is much easier when it's 10 to 1.

Evening
I went out to go to a jewelry store that I saw yesterday on the way to meet Annemarie. I know that I just walked down Calle 4 to 10th street, but tonight I could not find it. I went up and down twice. It's very strange because I know it was near when the Lavenderia was (unless she wasn't open tonight). I even checked Calle 8, where the Wal-Mart is to make sure that it wasn't there. I will find it!

I walked around and walked around (nothing unusual except almost getting run over by a European girl on a bicycle).

Wal-Mart
I was going to buy some more milk because Wal-Mart is the only one that carries the individual little boxes, but the lines were soooo long. I think everyone just got off of work.

I had to help some people with the milk situation. I'm an old pro now! LOL

El Fogon
I can't seem to help myself. I walk around looking at my options and I ended up back at El Fogon. I really shouldn't go there again until Bryn comes. They guy at the table next to me was from Chicago too. I just had Guacamole and one Tacos El Pastor (they are very little).

Cheester's
On my way back to the condo, I stopped at a place called Cheester's. It's a chain from Cancun serving Italian food (it doesn't look like a chain back home...it's like a house and garden setting). They have live Jazz music occasionally, so I wanted to check it out. I was speaking to the owner and his wife used to be an Apple Representative at the airport and he was a GoGo Representative. I told him that I was a Travel Agent. He said that I should work here in the winter and stay in the U.S. in the summer like he Canadians do. Hmmmm! They are going to have Jazz music on Sunday night, so maybe I will check that out. The menu looked good, but it's Italian again! LOL

Work
Wrapping up work for the weekend so hopefully I can play a bit at the Bahia Principe. I think I will go to the Akumal or Tulum side instead of the Coba so that Luis doesn't see me. I should have explained to him what a Food Baby is.

Anna! Anna!
As I was sitting here working, I heard someone yellng for Anna. I figured that a tennant was locked out, so I went out and it was two Canadian ladies inquiring about a rental. So, now I'm showing apartments. I showed them mine, but I told them that it's a bit expensive. They've already moved places 4 times!

Now, there are two of the tennants sitting on the curb below staring up at me while I'm typing...very strange. Apparently, they were waiting for their daughter. Thank Goodness!

1:00 a.m.
I am finally wrapping up for bed. I already received two Valentine's from a couple of hoteliers. Very nice!
