Day 2 - February 2

I slept with the T.V. on all night. I don't normally do that, but I just think I needed it the first night. There was this loud clicking noise every half hour or so that I realized was the refrigerator.

I woke up at 7:30 a.m. and I had breakfast at the condo.

Shower
There is no door on the shower and the water went all over the floor. I hope that I can re-direct it somehow tomorrow. And, the water was cold. It was hot in the sink though when I get out, so I don't know if I did something wrong, but I don't think so. All I know is that I was already freezing.

Internet
I tried to log in again using Anna's instructions, but it still wouldn't work. So, she asked another tennant to assist. He is a retired University Professor from Canada and he was leaving for Buenos Aires and Chile today, but he'll be back. The laptop was on the bed, so he had to come in the bedroom. Good thing I'm neat.

He wasn't able to help and said he had issues to when he arrived.

Jorge
I went looking for Jorge's store (Secrets Divine) because I thought that he might be able to help me. I passed it by about 4 miles. When I back-tracked, I finally found it (but I had to ask in a salon because Annemarie told me that it was near one). They were able to point me in the right direction.

When I arrived, Jorge was sweeping the floor and looked up and saw me. He also got a client at the same time who reminded me of Luis's wife, Rita. She tried on a dress that I thought was very cute. She came out to show us and it can also be worn as a skirt, so right in front of us, she pulled it down and was only wearing her bra! I couldn't even believe it. I encouraged her to buy it though and she also bought a bikini. I told Jorge that my bikini days are over!

Jorge's store is going to be featured in 2 magazines and a Brazillian model is going to model some of his lingerie and bathing suits.

We had some fresh juice from the place next door and we sat outside and enjoyed it. I think I got some sun on my face.

Jorge told me that I should get my hair cut by his neighbor. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Lunch
I was getting pretty hungry, so after walking around 5th Avenue a little more, I decided to have lunch at the Blue Parrot Beach Bar. It was pretty breezy down by the beach today.

I ordered a salad that was only $5.00 and I was so suprised at the size of it when it arrived.

Local Shopping
I decided to look around some of the more local stores including Melody, which is not far from the bus terminal.

There were some white boots that I liked at a shoe store, but I couldn't bring myself to try them on because there was another man in there with a plastic bag over his foot so that he could try on the shoes. I'm sure that they don't provide a new plastic bag to each customer. Yuck!

Internet
I went back to the condo and was going to take my laptop to Starbucks, but as I walked past my neighbor's condo, he had his window open and I could see him using his laptop, and I knocked. To my surprise, I was greeted by a young guy with his hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing nothing but blue underwear and he had silver spikes coming out of his ears (in all different directions) and out of his nipple. I'm surprised that I could even speak. He offered to come over and help me (and I thought, "IN YOUR UNDERWEAR?"). Good Lord, why is everyone an exhibitionist today? He gave me a Post-It note with some log in information, which actually worked. Hurray!

After being on the computer for a while, I decided to go to the rooftop to finish up, and he was there! Luckily he had shorts on. LOL I felt like I was intruding and I wasn't getting a connection up there anyhow, so I didn't stay. I did find out that he's from Paris and came here to dive. He rents out apartments in Paris. It was sort of chilly on the rooftop anyhow.

Chedraui
This is another grocery store and I wanted to get more Diet Coke, so I walked over there. They have an awesome bakery section too like Wal-Mart.

Dinner
When I came back, I made myself a ham and Manchego cheese sandwich and some chips while I responded to my e-mails.

Then, I lost my connection again!

Starbucks
I thought I would walk down to Starbucks and get a Chai Tea. On my way, that guy asked me to go dancing and I told him that I don't dance. Bryn, there's your partner!

Rottweiler
As I passed the Casa Tucan hotel, my friend was waiting for me. When I stopped to read the menu, he was leaning against me. He didn't want me to leave. I saw him the other day too and at first I was afraid, but he is so sweet and watches over everyone there. The owner said his name is Baloo (sp?)

So, as I tried to leave, he kept leaning on me. Awww! Harley, don't be jealous (I know mom is reading my blog to you).

It started to rain, but I thought it would be short and sweet. I bopped into a couple stores and was able to move on, but when I got to 5th Avenue, it started pouring. Almost everyone poured into a Tequila store and the rain would not let up. I had to have stayed there for an hour. Finally, I just made a mad dash to take a taxi back. It's just my luck that the car smelled like someone just smoked a cigarette! I felt like I was being smothered. I asked the driver why he let someone smoke in his car and he said that it was him! I told him that he's going to die. So gross!!! I love our new law in Illinois.

Obviously, I did not get my Starbucks. :(

Internet
My blog revolves a lot around the Internet. LOL It took me almost an hour to get logged on again. Something hapened and I could connect to the server, but not to the Internet. I'm trying to upload photos, but that's taking forever!

Workout
I feel so fat, so I worked out to some music videos. They plaid a lot from Grease.
